Guidelines for Submissions of Scholarly/Practitioner Articles to MIAS

 

Submissions

​

  • are open to lawyers licensed in any United States or foreign jurisdiction, who are current MIAS members;

  • must contain original work that has not been previously published and consist of 3,000 – 5,000 words.Shorter or longer submissions will not be considered;

  • should conform to Blue Book format and confirm they have been thoroughly cite checked prior to submission;

  • should address developments in International Commercial Arbitration or Investment Arbitration;

  • AI may only be utilized for tasks such as research or editing suggestions (in which case it must be disclosed) but in no circumstance should AI be used in the drafting of the article;

  • should contain the name of the author(s) in a footnote.

 

If accepted for publication by MIAS, articles will be housed on the MIAS website, author provides MIAS with right of first publication through LinkedIn with the author(s) retaining non-exclusive right to republish and option to submit a brief (@1 minute) video introduction to be coordinated with MIAS prior to first publication.

Must follow formatting guidelines:

  • Font: 12-point Times New Roman (TNR) for main text, 10-point TNR for footnotes

  • Word Count: between 5,000 and 10,000 words.

  • Citations: Use the Blue Book citation format.

  • Submission Format: MS Word
