To equip our future lawyers to practice in an increasingly global and multicultural world, FIU Law has integrated international and comparative legal studies into every aspect of the curriculum, including a required foundational course and an array of upper-level electives in public international law, international commercial transactions, international arbitration, trade law, and comparative and foreign law. Students also have the opportunity to participate in international study abroad programs such as the one held annually in Seville. They may also intern with global law firms and with institutions such as the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, The Hague Academy of International Law, the International Law Commission, and the Organization of American States. This unique global focus is enriched by the reputation of the College’s premier faculty members who are devoted full time to teaching and conducting research on international and comparative law. FIU Law is committed to strengthening its ties with the local and global legal communities, fostering research, outreach, partnership opportunities, and educational programming focused on international legal studies.
