Aguilar Castillo Love is a unique home-grown regional firm with presence in nine jurisdictions in Latin America (Central and South America). It has a cross-border international arbitration team, whose lawyers are distinguished by their extensive experience, acting both as party representatives and arbitrators, in domestic, international, commercial and investment arbitrations. Many important players in the region have turned to Aguilar Castillo Love for the resolution of complex disputes in strategic and regulated sectors.

Some of the most notable cases in which the members of our arbitration team have participated are the following: party representatives and local counsel in more than 10 investment arbitrations; party representatives in numerous commercial arbitrations before the ICC, ICDR, CIAC among others. Our involvement in arbitration disputes covers a wide array of sectors ranging from energy, construction, insurance, commercial, corporate, distribution, software, and sports disputes.

We are known by our attorney’s constant involvement in the development of the arbitration practice in the region. The members of our team have contributed to the growth of arbitration in different areas such as: negotiating on behalf of multiple Central American countries certain sections of great impact for arbitration within the DR-CAFTA; they are members of the ICC chapters in their respective jurisdictions; part of the Panel of Arbitrators of ICSID (World Bank); arbitrators of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS/CAS); arbitrators of the London Court of International Arbitration LCIA; arbitrators of different Free Trade Agreements; and, involvement in youth groups for arbitration such as: GTVYAP, CRYA, GYA, BOLIVYAP.
