Sequor Law’s international arbitration practice is tailored for complex, high-value disputes with minimal ties to the United States . Our reputation is based on inventive strategic vision, meticulous preparation, and compelling advocacy, combined with comprehensive post-award evidence gathering and recovery tools to secure and enforce collection on arbitral awards.

The firm’s international arbitration experience includes investor-State and commercial disputes, particularly with a connection to Latin America. Many of these matters have little or no involvement with the United States, and deal predominantly with foreign law. Our team handles proceedings in both English and Spanish.

Sequor Law has handled disputes in various arbitral fora, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), AAA-International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA ), among others, including ad hoc arbitrations under the UNCITRAL Rules.

Our expertise extends to pre-dispute counseling. Having navigated complex disputes caused by poorly drafted clauses, our lawyers advise clients on the drafting of suitable arbitration clauses for their business transactions. Our clients often enjoy fair proceedings (if not a material tactical advantage) if a dispute arises from a Sequor-drafted agreement. Members of our team have lectured extensively to corporate counsel groups on drafting and strategy considerations with respect to arbitral clauses.

Our lawyers are recognized leaders in the field. Giovanni Angles serves on the Board of Directors of the Miami International Arbitration Society and is a past President of the International Arbitration Commission of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA). Edward H. Davis, Jr. chaired The Florida Bar’s International Arbitration and Litigation Committee. Davis, along with Gregory S. Grossman, Arnoldo B. Lacayo, and Leyza B. Florin, are board certified in international litigation and arbitration by the Florida Bar, the highest number of certified attorneys in this practice area among Florida firms.

Our approach integrates rigorous financial analysis from our in-house financial investigator and forensic accountant, who work in tandem with our arbitration team to deliver decisive results for our clients’ most formidable challenges.

Arbitration often spawns parallel litigation. At times, litigation is necessary to compel arbitration. At other times, a party will sue in court seeking to circumvent the arbitral agreement. Arbitral awards routinely lead to litigation to certify or vacate the award. Our team has litigated all such cases, and coordinates with trusted counsel in foreign jurisdictions to pursue a global strategy.
